Kent used to be the third-in-command in building Indiana's economy.
It took us 95 minutes, and we never got it out of him. He just kept talking about anything but his mysterious background.
After learning about the leather care business he recently bought, we managed to pry out of him that he went to the United States Naval Academy. After learning very little about his military service (not sure, but I kind of wonder if he was a mercenary or in some kind of special ops unit), the conversation shifted to his service as an elected official in Columbus, IN, where he serves on the City Council.
We discussed how he understands what it means to be conservative, which doesn't seem to match the prevailing conservative party. Plus, he explains why some political operatives aren't exactly what you might think.
